Our kids running program is off and...RUNNING! We are so excited to have pictures from the program featured in the Boca Forum! Melissa Perlman, from Blue Ivy Communications: http://www.blueivycommunications.com/ has done an amazing job marketing and promoting our program! We just finished week two and it is going fabulously! We currently have 17 kids and are growing each week! We started off with fitness testing, which helped the coaches form groups at practice to differentiate activities. First and foremost we want to have FUN! We incorporate a lot of games into our program! It is so important for kids to learn that running is fun and enjoyable! We send out a weekly newsletter to keep parents informed and updated on all weekly and upcoming events. Please check out our weekly newsletter below: We would love to have you join us! Please email us at info@runforfunds.com if you have any questions!
Read and Ride Program

Read and Ride Program

This is a great story about an awesome idea that turned into a wonderful opportunity for students! It is called the "Read and Ride" Program! We at Run for Funds are just thrilled when we see these type of initiatives. A combination of promoting being active and healthy as well as academics! The article by Adele Peters states, "Elementary school has always looked a little bit like training for a traditional office job: You show up at 8 or 9, sit at your desk, and fill out paperwork for most of the day. An average third grader might spend as much as six hours sitting in the classroom--only a little less time than the average office worker spends sitting at work. But as more offices realize that sitting all day long is actually pretty terrible for health and productivity." We completely agree with Adele! We would love to see more initiatives like this being started all around the country!
